I'm a content strategist
& creative director
based in downtown Durham, NC.
In 2017, after 11 years as an editor with various NC magazines, I launched my own creative services company, helping small businesses and nonprofits with content strategy and creation, branding, PR, social media, and video and event production.
I am passionate about community building, doing work that benefits the greater good, and helping entrepreneurs grow their business in a purposeful way. I love where I live, as reflected in the projects I pursue.
I'm a longtime writer and editor. Whether you need website copy, a newsletter template, an event program guide, a video script, or a prepared speech, I can help.
Social Media Strategy
Not sure how to use social media in a way that helps your bottom line? Looking to inject new life into neglected accounts? I can assess your brand, then offer a training, create a category plan to ensure your feeds vary in content, and pen some "evergreen" posts for you to use in the coming months. I can also manage your accounts for you.
I help clients with branding. I brainstorm taglines, merchandising opportunities, event ideas, programming. I can come up with 15 video concepts for your brand. I can connect you to photographers, videographers, and web designers and manage projects from start to finish. If you're creatively stuck, let's connect.
I was a member of the NC media for 11 years. I can write a press release, tailor pitches to specific outlets, and get the word out about your organization or event.
I've hosted a podcast, moderated panels, interviewed business owners during Facebook Live videos, and emceed events. Anything that requires a stage presence is basically right up my alley. I can also do some media training with you to prepare you for the spotlight!
I've worked with
When it came time to roll out our new branding, I realized that I needed help from a pro, and I needed it ASAP! Because I have previously worked with Andrea in her magazine days and know how much experience she has with media marketing in the Southeast, I knew she was the one I could trust to listen to our needs and learn about our business. I provided her some background, she asked all the right questions, and we had a beautiful press release within 24 hours! As soon as our brand launched, she sent our release to an extensive list, curated just for us, of over 80 contacts in our industry on the local, regional and national levels!"
Christy Graves, Chapel Hill Toffee
Andrea's creative spirit and new ideas keep events interesting and fresh. She embraces innovation and new technologies to take her projects to the next level."
Jennifer Player, Habitat for Humanity of Orange County
Content strategist? Creative director? Add to those the title of superhero, and you might begin to capture the breadth and depth of Andrea's dazzling talents. I came to Andrea in the midst of the pandemic to ask her to think through with me if and how we could transform our giant annual in-person event to be Covid-safe. She rolled up her sleeves, exhorted me and my team to Dream Big about the possibilities for our big day (whose name is Dream Big), and helped us deliver the most successful and most engaging event in its 10-year history. The big vision, video content, messaging, attention to detail: We got it all with Andrea, and I couldn't be more delighted or amazed at what we pulled off."
Ginger Young, Book Harvest
Andrea is a master of content creation. She is creative and comes up with big idea after big idea – and then knows how to execute them."
Megan Haven, Duke Chronicle

I'm communications director for the volunteer organization FLIP NC, which takes targeted, evidence-based action to elect progressives to the General Assembly.
I founded the Triangle Kindness Project on Instagram, a community photo project that documents acts of kindness.
I write a monthly column for Chapelboro about my experience living and working in downtown Durham.
I play tennis as often as possible. Luckily, NC's weather allows me to do this year round!
